Statement of Faith
Pastor Timothy believes the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is true, it is complete, and it is the final authority for what we believe and how we live (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
He believes there is one God. God is not three persons. He is one Spirit who has revealed Himself as Father in creation, as Son in the flesh, and as Holy Ghost in His people. Jesus Christ is not a second person beside God. He is God Himself, come in the flesh. In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1, 14; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16).
He believes that all people have sinned and need a Saviour. Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Salvation is by grace through faith, and true faith obeys God's Word (Romans 3:23; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Ephesians 2:8-10).
He believes in the new birth as the apostles preached it. A person must repent of their sins, be baptized by full immersion in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. When a person is filled with the Holy Ghost, they speak in other tongues as the Spirit gives them utterance (John 3:5; Acts 2:4, 38; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 19:1-6).
He believes the Holy Ghost gives the believer power to live for God. A child of God is called to live a holy life, inside and out. Holiness is not a set of rules to earn salvation. It is the fruit of a heart that belongs to God, and it shows in how we think, speak, dress, and live (Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15-16).
He believes God still heals and still works miracles today, by the power of the Name of Jesus (Mark 16:17-18; James 5:14-15).
He believes the church is the body of Christ. Every believer is called to grow as a disciple of Jesus and to make disciples of others (Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:11-16).
He believes Jesus Christ is coming again. The dead in Christ will rise, and those who are alive and ready will be caught up to meet Him. Every person will one day stand before God. The righteous will live with Him forever, and the unrighteous will be separated from Him forever (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15).
